My office design progress

I had a spare bedroom that was hardly ever used, yet I had been working at my dining-room table for most of last year.

I wanted a dedicated space to work and the spare room which was also becoming a store-room was the perfect space.

When I sat down to design the look and feel of the office, I wanted to create a moody, tranquil space to work in. I often spend many long hours at my computer when conceptualising a new design therefore I wanted a peaceful, serene space to work in.

For that reason, I chose a warm grey/blue wall colour.

This room has a west-facing window and a north-facing window which means natural light streams into the room all day. It is also extremely bright in the late afternoon with the setting sunlight. I, therefore, chose translucent window blinds that I can adjust depending on the strength of the light.

To maximise space, I chose to have a custom-made fitted workstation that would allow me plenty of space for my desktop, laptop, plans, and layout of mood boards, etc.

By doing this I maximised the space in a fairly small room. The result is that the room is spacious and airy.
